2019/20 Regional C2C Program

Funding permitting, the next application deadlines for 2019/20 are:

  • September 13, 2019: events between September 30, 2019 and March 31, 2020
  • December 6, 2019: events between January 1 and March 31, 2020

The goal of a Regional C2C Forum is increased understanding and improved overall relations between First Nations and local governments. Forum events are intended to provide a time and place for dialogue to build on opportunities, support reconciliation efforts, resolve issues of common responsibility, interest or concern, and/or to advance tangible outcomes. To qualify for funding, C2C Forums must include direct dialogue between elected officials and/or senior staff of neighbouring First Nations and local governments and work toward one or more of the following objectives:

Strengthening relationships and fostering future co-operative action by building stronger links between First Nation and local government elected officials and senior staff

  • Advancing First Nations and local governments to more formal relationships through protocols, MOUs, service agreements and/or collaboration on plans or projects
  • Supporting local reconciliation efforts and shared capacity building
  • Developing or improving coordinated approaches to emergency preparation, mitigation, response and recovery

The overall goal of this program is to assist in providing expertise and funding support to Canadian Aboriginal tourism businesses wishing to improve their market-ready and export-ready status in order to have the opportunity to gain greater marketplace awareness, larger volumes of visitors and sustainable business growth.

FUNDING AVAILABLE: This program is intended to assist multiple Aboriginal tourism businesses from as many of the 13 provinces and territories as possible. There are limited funds available and therefore the funding amount for any one applicant will be up to a maximum of $10,000.

Applications completed to the satisfaction of the Minister will be considered for approval on a case-by-case basis, subject to Program eligibility criteria, assessment criteria and funding constraints. 

Alberta Agriculture and Forestry has priority areas of interest for activities and knowledge transfer and translation relating to science, research and innovation:

  • Advance effective environmental stewardship

  • Be a catalyst for economic development and competitiveness

  • Provide domestic and international assurance/public safety

Adaptive Sport Club Development Grant

The financial costs related to starting new sport clubs for people with a disability at the community level is high. This program is designed to support new developmental programs in communities or the expansion/enhancement of existing programs (e.g. integration of athletes with a disability in programming, new age categories).

The Alberni Valley Community Foundation makes grants to support local organizations serving the Alberni Valley, BC. Priorities include:

  • arts/culture;
  • recreation;
  • education;
  • health and physical activity;
  • seniors;
  • social services;
  • environment; and,
  • youth.

The Foundation will consider requests for program-related projects and capital projects, including construction, renovation, or equipment purchases.
